The Corporate Communications Coordinator will play a pivotal role in assisting with the development, coordination and distribution of both internal and external communications projects for Oglethorpe Power and Green Power EMC. The position is responsible for updating various websites and social media channels, distributing communications, and supporting content creation. This includes tasks such as crafting and proofing written content, as well as designing simple graphics using tools like Canva and PowerPoint. The role will assist with event planning and logistics and will contribute to other special projects as needed. To excel in this role, the Corporate Communications Coordinator should exhibit exceptional organizational skills to effectively manage a diverse range of tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dynamic, and creative, and should possess strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with company stakeholders.

  • Assist in the creation, editing and proofing of written content for various communications channels
  • Utilize tools like Canva to create simple graphics for social media, newsletters, and other communications needs, designing in alignment with brand standards
  • Manage the company intranet, ensuring it remains up-to-date and provides an engaging employee experience
  • Regularly update and maintain company websites, ensuring accurate, consistent, and engaging content.
  • Monitor and manage social media channels; create, schedule and publish relevant content.
  • Coordinate the distribution of internal and external communications, including corporate announcements, newsletters, and press releases.
  • Support planning and execution of events, including logistics and communication.
  • Assist with implementing brand standards for Oglethorpe Power and Green Power EMC
  • Perform basic photography for events, promotions, social media, newsletters, etc.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field.

Experience: One year of professional experience preferred; will consider a recent college graduate who can demonstrate relevant experience through internships and/or coursework

Equivalent Experience: Three years of professional experience in a similar role

Specialized Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with precise attention to detail
  • Experience in Corporate Communications and content creation
  • Experience managing various website platforms (WordPress preferred)
  • Basic graphic design skills using tools like Canva or similar beginner-level tools
  • Experience managing social media channels and developing engaging social content
  • Intermediate Microsoft SharePoint experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
  • Understanding of branding consistency
  • Working knowledge of Mac OS

Licenses, Registrations, and/or Certifications: Valid driver's license that meets the insurance eligibility requirements under Oglethorpe Power's Driver Qualification Program.
