Corporate Accounting Manager

The Corporate Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the daily transactions for Capitol Broadcasting Company's corporate departments. This role supports the Corporate Controller and other Corporate Finance and Accounting team members to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting on a monthly and annual basis.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Month-End Close and Financial Reporting - 20%

• Lead the month-end and year-end close process for all Corporate departments including standard monthly journal entries and accruals.
• Ensure all monthly elimination entries are accurately posted for all CBC business units.
• Reconcile assigned accounts as well as coordinate with other CBC business units to ensure all account reconciliations are completed on a timely basis.
• Develop a monthly reporting package, with the help of the Corporate Controller, for all Corporate departments and distribute to senior management on a monthly basis once implemented.

Payroll - 15%

• Serve as co-administrator for payroll process.
• Ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees.
• Collaborate with HR to address payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies.
• Calculate and post all payroll journal entries for all CBC business units.

Cash Posting and Reconciliation - 15%

• Ensure posting accuracy of all cash transactions on a monthly basis.
• Assist Corporate and business unit staff with resolving any cash posting/reconciliation issues that arise.

Capital Asset Reporting - 5%

• Implement and maintain monthly reporting of capital asset activity for all business units including CIP, additions and disposals and budget-to-actual reporting.
• Develop and implement capital expenditure forecasting tools that allow senior management to accurately project free cash flows.

Annual Audit Support - 10%

• Prepare audit schedules for assigned areas of focus.
• Assist Corporate Assistant Controller in charge of the audit as needed to ensure all business units are submitting requests in a timely manner in order to meet the deadline for audit completion.
• Coordinate with business unit staff to respond timely to any questions that arise.

Tower Business Accounting - 5%

• Perform routine accounting processes for all aspects of the two (2) CBC tower businesses.
• Coordinate and manage the annual external audit for the tower partnership in which CBC is the managing partner.

Forecasting and Budgeting - 5%

• Assist Corporate Controller and others in updating the monthly forecasts and preparing the annual budgets for Corporate departments.
• Assist with budget reporting to senior management.

Annual Benefit Plan Audit - 5%

• Coordinate and manage annual audit of CBC's retirement plans.
• Manage filings of all 5500s.

Other - 20%

• Serve as backup systems administrator for both Oracle Cloud ERP and Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Systems.
• Provide support to Corporate Assistant Controller responsible for insurance as needed - i.e. annual renewal process, claims management, etc.
• Support Oracle Cloud ERP optimization projects.
• Ad hoc financial analysis projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• BS or BA degree in accounting from a four-year college or university.
• Minimum total 5-7 years of experience in public accounting and accounting management role in industry.
• Strong PC skills, including intermediate Excel.
• Experience as a user of Oracle Cloud Financials preferred Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service and Oracle Smart View a plus.
