About the Position
A Coroner Forensic Technician prepares bodies of deceased persons for autopsy and assists a pathologist in the autopsy process; maintains the autopsy room in a clean and orderly condition; and assists with the collection and preparation of tissue specimens for autopsy.
Persons employed in this class must be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and be subject to call back duty.
Education and Experience
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:
Education: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
Experience: One year of mortuary or laboratory pathology experience.
License or Certificate:*
Possession of a valid California Driver's License.
