Why work at Brady:
A career at Brady means working for a global company that has thrived for over 100 years, and whose innovative spirit drives our future growth.
Brady offers competitive pay and great benefits, supported by a culture that encourages collaboration and innovation. We strive to foster an inclusive workplace where diverse talent can learn, grow, and succeed. And with deeply rooted values, no matter where you work at Brady, you’ll feel connected to the community through our charitable contributions and opportunities to give back.
Our headquarters are in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but we have more than 70 locations globally, giving our employees the opportunity to work with colleagues around the world.
What we need:
Our in-house Global Brand & Creative Team is looking for a hungry creative thinker with outstanding chops and a passion for the written word. A seasoned scribe who brings a borderline obsessive consumer-centric approach. And a relentless drive for creating seamless experiences across all touchpoints. A true copy savant who uses AI and the latest tools to stay on the cutting edge of the profession. One who gets uncontrollably excited about the opportunity to continue building an iconic global brand from the inside-out.
In our flexible hybrid work environment, you’ll enjoy career-enhancing opportunities to solve business problems and make your mark across a wide and ever-evolving range of assets. From brand and product positioning to expert content and articles, campaign copy to case studies — including print and digital initiatives, emails, newsletters, product packaging, social content, video scripts, etc — and everything in between. Working closely with designers as well as collaborating with other members of the team, you’ll be asked to create branded assets that clearly communicate our value props, enhance our perceived value, meet key business objectives and elevate the overall Brady customer experience. All while working with the team to strategically activate the customer experience ecosystem — delivering seamless, meaningful and cohesive interactions at every touchpoint.
What you’ll be doing:

  • Deliver “I wish I’d thought of that” level copy and messaging on myriad elements, including but not limited to: brochures, display ads, sell sheets, presentations, digital banners, content articles, emails, packaging copy, retail displays, catalogs, social content, event exhibits, sales enablement tools, messaging playbooks and more
  • Bring a creative problem-solving mindset to strategically activate the customer experience ecosystem to accomplish multiple business objectives from internal stakeholders — while delivering seamless, cohesive and meaningful interactions at every touchpoint
  • Work with speed and accuracy for timely yet thoughtful turnarounds, taking direction earnestly from peers, superiors and stakeholders while improving yourself and the work
  • Coordinate and collaborate with copy, design, video, creative and marketing peers in offices around the globe
  • Bring a strategic adviser approach to consult and collaborate with internal stakeholders to share ideas, deliver fresh thinking and present a recommended copy approach
  • Comfortable with both creative ad copy and longer-form, technical copy projects
  • Pivot frequently between customers, industries, segments and product categories inside a varied business representing more than 50,000 products
  • Manage supplier relationships including freelancers, photographers, vendors, etc
  • Be a steward of brand guidelines with passion for consistency and growing investment in branding across the organization to enhance and elevate the brand experience

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • BA / BS Degree in Advertising, Communications, English, Creative Writing or a related field of study or similar work experience
  • 3-5 years copywriting experience at an agency or in-house creative department
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Bonus — proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Acrobat, etc
  • Strong conceptual skills with a high-level sense of copy/layout relationship, with a keen eye for aesthetics and details
  • Ability to handle multiple, concurrent and ongoing short-term and long-term projects while working under pressure and adjusting to changing priorities/deadlines, while maintaining a high level of quality
  • A love of learning, always seeking to stay current on copywriting practices specifically in the industrial product category through organizations, publications and visual audits of competitive and complementary products
  • Ability to prioritize work within deadlines and set realistic delivery expectations
  • Expert knowledge in the creative production process
  • Experience using asset and project management software
  • Ability to take projects from start to finish with minimal supervision
  • Work in an agile/iterative project cycle management structure
  • Familiar with digital accessibility standards, metadata copy and file management structures
  • Must provide a portfolio of past projects that reflects your passion and skills
  • Must participate in a sample project assigned by Brady if selected as a finalist

Benefits:

  • Complete insurance coverage starting on first day of employment – medical, dental, vision, life
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Bonus opportunity
  • Vacation and holiday pay
