Summary of Position

We are looking for a detail-oriented copywriter to write persuasive and compelling marketing materials for a variety of online platforms. In this role, you will be required to combine creative writing techniques with descriptive product information and modern SEO (Search Engine Optimization) strategies to craft unique and engaging product descriptions, website page text, blogs, and brand content. The ideal candidate has strong writing and editing skills, can work well as part of a team, is willing to learn new skills and techniques, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing environment.

Role Responsibilities:

• Write clear, concise, and compelling product descriptions for hundreds of products for a variety of different e-commerce sales channels (Wayfair, Amazon, Target, Walmart.com, Overstock.com, etc.)
• Utilize content management system to fill in many critical data points/attributes for every new product and add to existing products as needed
• Write/edit blog posts, buying guides, landing page descriptions, and informational pages for our website
• Conduct thorough research to understand target audience, market trends, and competitors to inform content strategy
• Use SEO (Search Engine Optimization) strategies and keyword research to improve our written content and market our products to a large online audience
• Collaborate with the Marketing team and other company departments to list the product on our website and marketplaces with images, keywords, and copy
• Create enhanced graphical content for “below the fold” of product pages to further highlight details and features of the product
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in copywriting and digital marketing
• Other duties and projects as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Relocation to Eau Claire, WI
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Detail-oriented with excellent proofreading, writing, and editing skills
• Collaborative and creative
• Critical thinking skills
• Experience using Microsoft Office programs (particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook)
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a copywriter (or equivalent role)
• Experience with Salsify, Asana, and/or Photoshop
• Graphic design knowledge
• Web writing and SEO experience
• Familiarity with online media

Schedule:

Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4:30 PM with a half-hour lunch or 5 PM with an hour lunch. This position requires 40+ hours a week depending on workload.
