Striveworks is seeking a Copy Editor with experience editing technical proposals to work with our team as a part-time Independent Contractor. As a Copy Editor at Striveworks you'll be challenged-and trusted-on day one to ensure that Striveworks proposals, white papers, and other content meet a high standard of excellence.
You will be responsible for editing complex proposals and other technical and persuasive content for style, grammar, organization, readability, and clarity. You will be responsible for applying and maintaining the Striveworks Style Guide. You'll work cross-functionally with our technical, Business Development, Marketing, and Revenue Operations teams to help create compelling proposals and RFI responses that align with Striveworks' goals and values. To be successful in this role you should have experience editing technical documents and/or complex proposals and be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. A standout Copy Editor will also be able to review solicitations for drafting requirements and ensure that those requirements are met.
The anticipated pay range for this position is $31-41/hour. We estimate this role to start at 10-20 hours per week, though there is no guaranteed minimum at this time.
This position offers a fully remote work environment, or you can work hybrid or onsite at our office in northwest Austin, TX.

Here's what we're looking for:
- 2-4 years of copy editing experience
- Strong grasp of language, including nuance and tone, and ability to adapt writing style to different audiences
- Strong grammar skills and basic aptitude for proofreading
- High attention to detail and ability to review and edit proposal content for compliance, clarity, and proper use of terminology
- Knowledge of Chicago Manual of Style or MLA
- Experience with maintaining and enforcing a company style guide
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple competing responsibilities to meet deadlines
- Strong sense of responsibility and accountability
- Bachelor's degree. Degree in English, Marketing, Journalism, or related field preferred
The Wish List

- Experience editing proposals relating to software development
- Experience responding to formal solicitations from government entities, including RFPs and RFIs
