Job Summary:
The Visuals team at National Geographic is hiring a Coordinator. The coordinator will play a pivotal role, dedicating time to offer vital administrative support to the Vice President, Head of Visuals. Additionally, they will actively collaborate with photography managers and editors to research and develop captivating visual stories. This position encompasses a diverse range of tasks, combining organizational, administrative, and creative responsibilities across various media platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Administer crucial support to the VP of Visuals, managing schedules, attending meetings, and distributing notes and action steps.
- Efficiently prioritize tasks and tactfully manage tight deadlines while communicating effectively with department members, executives, and stakeholders.
- Identify and prioritize visual department tasks, creating Airtable, Spreadsheets, reports, and analyses as required.
- Foster effective communication with other National Geographic departments to align visual storytelling with broader company goals.
- Coordinate travel plans, create itineraries, and handle expenses and invoices using Concur/SAP travel proxy role.
- Provide in-meeting preparation, hospitality support, and assist with admin projects, research, creative review, and strategic outreach.
- Manage and organize media assets for feature stories and projects across various National Geographic platforms.
- Act as a liaison between photographic staff and internal/external teams, facilitating effective communication and collaboration for seamless content flow.
- Maintain multiple schedules, coordinate photo shoots, and prepare necessary paperwork for production and archiving.
- Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects within tight deadlines.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions with discretion.
- Strong multitasking abilities and adaptability.
- Willingness to learn internal systems.
- Availability for overtime or odd hours when necessary.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
