Coordinator of Workforce Solutions

 This role collaborates with the Director of Workforce and Continuing Education to efficiently manage and coordinate non-credit programs. Responsibilities include overseeing course management, fostering stakeholder relationships, managing youth summer camps, conducting data analysis, providing new-hire training, and contributing to departmental growth. Additionally, the position represents the department externally, upholds the college's professional image, and ensures compliance with industry standards..

 

Essential Functions:

  1. Manages the non-credit courses scheduled for the nine-county service area including contracting instructors, reserving facilities, preparing course materials, and entering course information in the learning management database.
  2. Work in collaboration with the director to foster relationships with business, industry, government entities and communities throughout the college's nine county service area.
  3. Lead and direct the college's efforts in the coordination, scheduling, contracting of instructors, and marketing for youth summer camps.  
  4. Assist with collection and analyst of departmental data.
  5. Responsible for providing new-hire training for Workforce team in data tracking and reporting as well as in the use of CampusCE and responses to inquiries.
  6. Assist the director in building a strong pool of experienced, credentialed trainers.
  7. Serve as the lead recruiter at external events throughout the region for the department to promote non-credit workforce training.
  8. Perform cost analyses for proposed projects and programs along with tracking expenses to ensure projects stay within budget.
  9. Be knowledgeable of credit programs to reflect the one-college strategy when at external events on behalf of the college.
  10. Project a professional image to businesses and industries that reflects a positive first impression of the college.
  11. Provide timely and comprehensive responses to business, industry and community requests.
  12. Build relationships with staff at all 5 Columbia State campuses to increase WCE services to industries and businesses.
  13. Provide direct oversight for the Pre-Apprentice Lineworker Program.
  14. Assist the director with detailed monthly reports of programs and courses
  15. Provide the director with recordkeeping in accordance with the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).
  16. Act as the primary liaison and provide departmental oversight and supervision during periods when the director is engaged in out-of-office projects.

 

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Serve on college committees as assigned.
  2. Perform other duties as assigned.
  3. Cooperates with the College's Marketing and PR Office to ensure that marketing materials meet College standards
  4. Travels to various industries in the service area.
  5. Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Education, Training and Experience:

  1. Bachelor Degree in business related field, Mass Communications, Information Systems or other field with business management experience.
  2. One year of experience in outside sales, data management, training, event planning or related field.
  3. Experience effectively managing multiple projects, adapting to changing schedules and meeting deadlines.
  4. Office management experience related to budgeting, recordkeeping, reporting, and meeting deadlines.
  5. Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications - Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, or database applications.
  6. Excellent writing skills
  7. Experience monitoring and updating web sites

 

Education, Training and Experience Preferred:

  1. Data management experience
  2. Graphic Design Experience
  3. Experience using learning management systems and email marketing systems
  4. Experience with curriculum development
  5. Experience managing various social media

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Work Characteristics:

  1. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Working Conditions:

  1. Varied work hours, including days and evening and weekend hours as needed.
  2. Travel to Columbia State extended campuses and other service area locations
  3. Normal sitting and movement in an office environment.
  4. Visual and hand usage of computer terminal and/or PC.

Hiring Salary Range:  $39,590 - $49,480

This position is based at the Columbia, TN Campus.
