As the Coordinator of Orientation and New Student Programs, you'll wear many hats, overseeing online orientation platforms, designing and executing enrollment programs, and collaborating across departments to support strategic plans. Engaging with New Students and their families, you'll craft programs that introduce campus resources, educate on responsibilities, and foster success strategies at HCC. Your role extends to promoting an inclusive environment that embraces diversity among students and staff.   1. Manages all planning, logistics, and activities related to New Student Programs (in person and remote modalities) and the online New Student orientation platform (Advantage Design).
  2. Collaborates with campus stakeholders to keep online orientation and New Student materials up-to-date in English and Spanish, including soliciting campus changes and program updates.
  3. Partners with the college community to develop and execute programs for New Students that engage and welcome students as they first enter the college and contribute to student retention and success. Primary collaborators include Admissions, El Centro, Student Engagement, and Financial Aid.
  4. Develops and delivers Accepted Students Days programming and activities. Evaluates effectiveness of activities, seeks feedback from participants, and incorporates continuous improvement of the program.
  5. Collaborates with the academic department chairs and program coordinators to develop Welcome Week activities designed to foster a sense of belonging, engagement in the academic program, and retention from semester to semester.
  6. Serve as EAB's Navigate Content Administrator.
  7. Maintain student-facing content in Navigate Student as the Content Administrator (To-dos, Events, Tips, Resources, and Surveys).
  8. Assist in the role of Navigate Application Administrator to develop and deliver training materials for students, staff, and faculty regarding use of Navigate Student and Navigate Staff.
  9. Serve as a member of the Navigate Leadership team. Contribute to Navigate Strategic Plan by assisting with platform and user configurations and execution.
  10. Provide internal customer support to Navigate Staff, Navigate Student, and Advantage Design (online orientation) end users, including monitoring the Navigate and NSO inboxes.
  11. Submits and manages helpdesk tickets regarding Navigate and Advantage Design platform functionality and features.
  12. Utilize EAB's Navigate, Advantage Design, Banner, Degree Works, and Online Services to track success metrics, enhance recruitment and admission strategies, and activities and to support student enrollment and success.
  13. Collects data and ensures proper tracking is in place for all initiatives, events, and activities, including data entry for future analysis and planning. Reviews evaluations/feedback and makes recommendations for continuous improvement.
  14. In collaboration with Associate Director of Admissions Technology and Operations, create and maintain Navigate Newsletter to provide twice-a-semester updates to campus community.
  15. Co-coordinates student workers by coaching and assigning tasks to a team that will assist with program staffing, student outreach, and peer support.
  16. Performs administrative tasks associated with department activities.
  17. Serve as a collaborative member of the HCC community in support of student success and campus governance be serving on departments, divisional, and campus-wide committees
  18. Maintains professional knowledge in applicable areas.
  19. Perform related duties as directed.

REQUIRED:
  • Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Sociology, or closely related field; with five (5) years' experience and/or training that includes academic advisement, academic placement, counseling, career development, or program/project management; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to off-campus locations as necessary.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously with little supervision.
  • Strong computer skills with experience using Office or Workspace tools, such as Word, Excel, Docs, and/or Sheets.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse population.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends during peak enrollment period.
PREFERRED:
  • Experience working in enrollment services in a higher education setting.
  • Experience with Constant Contact, EAB's Navigate, Advantage Design (or similar orientation platform), and Banner student information systems.
  • Experience coordinating New Student orientation and/or programs related to first year student success.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Full-time, MCCC Unit Professional position
Salary Range: Grade 6; Minimum $70,120-$82,064 /year. Actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience in accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Full State benefits package.
Hours: 37.5 hrs./52 weeks
Funding Source: State
