Coordinator, Food Services

About the Role

The Coordinator, Food Services will be a core function supporting the Facilities team at Ariat. The person in this role will be based at our Headquarters office in San Leandro, California. The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about food and event planning.

You’ll Make a Difference By

• Managing the current lunch program:
• Managing day to day issues with current lunch program vendor (Superfine Foods) including program enhancements and day to day issue resolution. Explore additional services that might be added to improve program and offer more options for our team.
• Proposing, testing, and expanding lunch program to offer variety to Ariat teams. Options may include soup and salad bars or other options
• Receiving and distributing daily lunch orders for Ariat Employees
• Maintaining Ariat snack program customization:
• Working with leaders to offer continual refresh of snack and food offerings, seasonally or to chase trends.
• Maintaining snack inventory to ensure variety and replenishment as needed.
• Catering Event Planning and Coordination: Coordinating with various Ariat teams on catering needs for meetings and special events in building, including team meetings and client and vendor meetings. Managing schedules, logistics, and all details to ensure flawless execution.
• Managing Kitchen supplies: Coordinating and ensuring each kitchen in the building is stocked with necessary supplies for daily use.
• Coordinating with vendors for repairs on any coffee machines or other food service equipment.
• On-Site Event Management and execution: Overseeing the daily execution of all meal and snack services at Ariat, ensuring service runs smoothly, and any immediate needs are met and or issues addressed.
• Assisting facilities team with projects as needed.
• Customer Service Excellence: Maintaining high levels of Ariat employee satisfaction through proactive communication and exceptional service, problem solving and continual improvement.
• Assist with Employee event planning:
• Collaborating effectively with Ariat HR team and departmental leads on required employee celebrations, monthly birthday and other Ariat events that require food service or catering. Assist with all aspects of planning and event execution coordinators or direct clients to ensure catering services are perfectly integrated into the event plan.
• Coordinating delivery, setup and removal of any additional equipment needed for large events with vendors

About You

• Has a passion for food and event planning.
• Strong catering and or food presentation skills to elevate the presentation of our food service offerings.
• Possesses strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Has experience in catering, hospitality, or event management.
• Is adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and events simultaneously.
• Shows excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.
• Is available to work flexible hours, including evenings.
• Holds knowledge of food safety and handling regulations.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in catering, event planning, or related field.
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work independently.

The hourly range for this position is $28.75 - $31.25 per hour.

The salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data for geographic locations. Ariat in good faith believes that this posted compensation range is accurate for this role at this location at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
