Job Description
Overview
The Activity Coordinator is responsible for planning and implementing the center’s social, recreational, and therapeutic activity program. The individual is responsible for supervising Activity Assistants, coordinating care with the Interdisciplinary Team, and acting as a liaison between the Interdisciplinary Team and staff, participants, and individuals of the program.
Responsibilities
Completes all regulatory assessments and plans of care as needed
Develops, implements, conducts, and/or supervises the centers activity programs to meet the physical, cognitive, social, and psycho-social needs of the participants, considering any functional limitations of the participant/ individual
Promotes and coordinates the volunteer program for the center
Creates and maintains an environment that protects participants from harm and promotes wellbeing
Communicates and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, staff, and participants/ individuals
Handles conflict resolution opportunities in an appropriate, timely, and consistent manner
Operates the activity program within budget
Performs other duties as assigned
This role coordinates a team of zero to four Activity Assistants
Qualifications
Required Education: High School Diploma/ GED and 1 year leadership experience in a healthcare setting
Preferred Experience: Bachelor’s Degree
Required Experience: 1 year leadership experience in a healthcare setting
