We are currently looking to fill a Controls Engineer position with a major client of ours in the Hudson Valley! It provides an opportunity to join a growing team in an exciting and fast-paced work environment. We have listed a few of the other job responsibilities and requirements below!
The ideal Controls Engineer candidate will have the following skillset/experience:
- 5 years of PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley Logix, PLC5, SLC; other platforms a plus.)
- 5 years of HMI design experience.
- Experience using MS Visual Studio and coding in Visual Basic
- Knowledge of common industrial networks (MODBUS, EtherCat, EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet.)
- Knowledge of VFDs, servos and common system interfaces (CIP, Field buses.)
- Ability to interpret manufacturers data sheets for edge components.
- Ability to create and read Process & Instrumentation drawings (P&IDs.)
- Strong electrical & mechanical troubleshooting skills.
The Controls Engineer will have the following responsibilities:
- Design, develop, maintain, document, troubleshoot, and debug PLC and HMI software.
- Provide engineering expertise for the design, specification and installation of manufacturing automation systems
- Program applications to meet project requirements.
- Program implementation, debug and system testing.
- Assist and direct in the physical assembly and wiring of systems.
- Documentation & revision control of work product
- Performs and documents hardware and software modifications
- Communication with team members & clients
