Job Description
This is a direct hire opportunity, meaning that SNELLING will help facilitate the recruitment process and the selected candidate will be offered employment directly with the client. Compensation will be determined according to the relevant nature of the selected candidates’ education and legal experience. Duties & Responsibilities of the Controller/Chief Financial Officer will include:
- Oversee all aspects of the company's financial management, including financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage the preparation of journal entries, accruals, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Prepare work in process (WIP) reports for project owners and stakeholders to track project profitability and performance.
- Manage and mentor an established accounting team handling tasks related to accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate completion of audits and tax filings.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive leadership team to support decision-making and drive business growth.
Skills required of the Controller/Chief Financial Officer will include:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree and/or CPA preferred).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a leadership/supervisory role.
- Experience managing the finances of a company with revenues of at least $75 million.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements.
- Proven ability to prepare and analyze financial statements and reports.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience managing and developing staff.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make strategic financial recommendations based on data analysis.
