Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to join our thriving Venture Capital firm. This is an incredible opportunity for a seasoned financial professional who is passionate about the tech industry and is looking to make an impact. The Controller will be responsible for managing all aspects of our financial operations, including fund accounting, financial reporting, audits, valuations, and budgets. This position will play a critical role in strategic decision-making and operations as we continue to enhance our quality and performance.
Responsibilities:
As our Controller, you will be expected to:

• Oversee all accounting operations of our company, including the design of an organizational structure that will achieve our financial goals.
• Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain internal control safeguards and coordinate all audit activities.
• Manage cash flow and forecasting. Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes the minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
• Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements.
• Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors.
• Leverage the finance and accounting team to improve financial procedures.
• Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.
• Prepare and present financial reports to the board of directors, making recommendations on budget forecasts and profit and loss.
• Implement and manage financial planning and analysis processes to predict and manage financial risks.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience in a leadership role
• Strong knowledge of fund accounting, financial reporting, audit, valuations, and budgets.
• Experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for investments.
• A successful track record in setting priorities, shaping processes, and executing quickly and effectively.
• Keen analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills, which support and enable sound decision making.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
• A multitasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment.
