Job Description
We are a private equity backed organization in the veterinary services industry, growing rapidly through acquisitions and integrations. We are looking for a Corporate Controller who will help steward the financial success of the organization and continue to build the infrastructure needed to support a growing operation. Our accounting function has been offshored to India, so this person will work with that team to monitor the accounting activities and continuously improve the processes. This person will also work with our CFO to support the short- and long-term planning efforts, ensure budgetary adherence, and build a stronger finance apparatus.
Job Functions:
- Designs, recommends and implements new or modified accounting systems to provide complete and accurate financial and statistical reporting as well as improvement of systems.
- Reviews monthly financial statements. Analyses and reports on variances.
- Establishes and administers proper policies and procedures applicable to financial controls.
- Identifies trends in financial and statistical data, communicates to appropriate managers and participates in planning the response and actions.
- Assis the CFO with the budgeting and forecasting processes and drive insights through analytics and reporting.
- Manage the company’s monthly-end and quarterly-close process and related financial reporting requirements, expediting the preparation of balance sheets, income, cash flows, and equity statements in an accurate, timely, and effective manner.
- Review of general ledger and balance sheet.
- Resolving various accounting/reconciliation issues.
- Supervise and provide guidance to the accounting staff in India.
- Assist in year-end tax compliance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in accounting
- Degree in accounting, finance or related field
- 2+ years of experience in managing accounting teams and operations
- Strong ERP experience, preferably with NetSuite or other large/cloud ERP
- Experience developing, improving, and documenting processes and procedures
- Prior exposure to private equity, mergers & acquisitions - preferred
