Controller

Austin Staffing, Inc. is now recruiting for a dynamic and experienced Controller to join our north Austin client's team! As the Controller, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all facets of the accounting operations, ensuring that the company's financial statements are accurate, and that the organization complies with all applicable accounting regulations. The ideal candidate for this role must have solid communication, technology, analytical, and management skills. They should also have a strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
In this role, you will oversee an accounting team of 5 individuals.
* Must have prior inventory accounting experience, as this equipment supply company has many products and parts!
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee the monthly close cycle, financial reporting, internal control, and process development
· Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements
· Manage the budget process
· Work to improve the effectiveness of accounting software with current ERP
· Oversees regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance
· Evaluate accounting and internal control systems
· Create internal policies and spend controls
· Hire, train, and retain skilled accounting staff
Education and Experience:

· Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting, or a related field
· Five or more years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager
· Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) or CA (chartered accountant)
