Position Summary
The Controller oversees the accounting, treasury and financial reporting operations of the company. Duties include process and system improvements, creation of and/or adherence to policies, procedures and internal controls and the overall accuracy of the financial records and reporting. The Controller will lead the corporate accounting team and will liaison with facility personnel to optimize all facets of the financial operations and reporting of the company.
Relationships and Contacts
Within the organization: Establish and maintain productive working relationships with Revenue Cycle leaders, Financial Operations leaders, and Corporate Accounting team members throughout Odyssey. Provides immediate supervision of the Director of Accounting position and leadership for Accounting and Accounts Payable teams.
Outside the organization: Establish and maintain productive working relationships third party vendors, as necessary.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provides strategic accounting leadership and assists accounting team, as needed, to ensure timely and accurate monthly close processes.
- Proactively builds team, processes and systems infrastructure in high growth environment. Produces recommendations for senior leadership and leads system enhancements and/or implementations.
- Presents financial information or other analyses to executive or Board level audiences.
- Oversees working capital and cash management processes and reporting.
- Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk and increase consistency and accuracy.
- Oversees the production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports; ensures reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles including new standards as required.
- Produces annual budgets, report budget vs. actual monthly and provide insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Provides financial analysis and supports expense management initiatives, as required.
- Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit and completion of financial statements and footnotes.
- Ensures accurate and timely compliance with all required tax filings.
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

QualificationsEducation and Experience
Position requires a Master’s degree in Accounting and a minimum of 8 years of related experience. Certified Public Accountant required.

- Able to travel as needed, may include periodic overnight travel.
