Controller For Shared Services

Robert Half is seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic Controller to join the ranks at a well-respected Real Estate & Property company. In this leadership position, you will direct an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. How you will make an impact

- Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual

- Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

- Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports

- Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective

- Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties

- Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction

- Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

- Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

- Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required

- Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

- Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections.

- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
- Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
- Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
- Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
- Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
- Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- Excel Formulas experience highly desired
- Deep understanding of treasury
- Proven knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Practical knowledge of University Degree
- Well-founded grasp of Pivot Table
- General familiarity with VLOOKUP
- Quality experience with Shared Services
- Foundational knowledge in NetSuite
- Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired
- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience preferred
- Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
