Job Title: Controller
The role of Controller is a critical position within Rockford Structures with responsibilities for overseeing financial activities and ensuring the fiscal health of the organization.
- Financial Management:
- Manage and oversee the financial operations of the company.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Monitor cash flow, expenses, and financial performance.
- Accounting:
- Supervise the accounting team and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Reconcile financial statements and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to develop project budgets.
- Monitor project costs and provide regular budget vs. actual analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts.
- Project Cost Control:
- Work closely with project managers to track project costs and expenses.
- Implement cost control measures to ensure projects stay within budget.
- Analyze variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Financial Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits.
- Implement and enforce internal controls.
- Contract Management:
- Review and analyze construction contracts for financial implications.
- Advise on contract terms and conditions related to financial matters.
- Work with legal and project teams to mitigate financial risks.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Management:
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors.
- Monitor vendor and subcontractor performance.
- Manage payment processes to ensure timely and accurate disbursements.
- Technology and Systems:
- Stay informed about industry best practices and technology solutions.
- Implement and optimize financial management systems and software.
- Train staff on the use of financial tools.
- Reporting:
- Generate and distribute financial reports to management.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making.
- Present financial information to executives and stakeholders.
- Risk Management:
- Identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Stay informed about economic trends and their potential impact on the construction industry.
- Advise leadership on risk management strategies.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with various departments, including project management, operations, and executive leadership.
- Communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
- Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes.
