One of New York Citys largest, prominent, non-profit, Catholic Charities Community Services
(CCCS) is seeking a Controller within its Fiscal team. CCCS provides a broad range of social services throughout the Archdiocese of New York. This position an important member of the senior financial team with responsibility for direct accounting operations, i.e. the timeliness, quality and accuracy of audit, financial and operational transactions / reporting for multiple entities.
The position extensively collaborates with the Director of Fiscal Operations and other Fiscal Directors and teams to support operations and meet audit / compliance requirements. The Controller ensures all transactions are properly authorized, recorded and analyzed, financials statements / footnotes prepared, maintain and monitors cash requirements and investments, review existing financial systems and internal controls, maintain policies and procedure manuals and to present recommendations for improving the reporting of financial information.
This position is ideal for a professional accountant looking for increased responsibilities and complex work. The candidate will need a Bachelors degree in Accounting and have at least 10+ years of relevant experience including mid-level, multiple staff supervision for at least of those 5 years. Preferred candidates will be a CPA and / or MBA with non-profit accounting supervisory experience; Lawson financial and other electronic workflow experience is considered a plus.
