Oversee month end closing duties, which includes but not limited to:
Debt Schedules
Prepaid Schedules
Intercompany Transactions
Accruals
Payroll Entries
Purchasing Cards
Month End Reporting to Parent Company
Ensuring that all financial reports are accurate, timely, and compliant with GAAP.
Advising management on financial decisions helping to develop financial strategies that align with the company's goals.
Managing a team of financial professionals, including accountants and other staff members.
Reviewing financial processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Developing and monitoring the company's financial plans and reporting progress to senior management.
Ensuring adequate financial controls are in place to mitigate risks and prevent fraud.
Working with auditors and external partners to ensure that the company's financial statements are accurate and in compliance.
Maintain established relationships with banking partners and other external stakeholders.
Participate in the ongoing strategic planning process in developing and implementing new business initiatives and projects.
The Controller must work at a detailed level, understanding every nuance of the accounting process and the transactional data in the general ledger, financial statements, and compliance documents. The Controller supervises vital functions, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, audit, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the organization's financial processes. At the same time, they must be strategic thinkers who help the company achieve its short and long-term goals. An understanding of the numbers and a sense for business relationships are required.
Accountable to the Vice President of Finance, the Controller must possess exceptional communication and organizational skills and a keen attention to detail. The position must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and effectively. Apart from these duties, the Controller may be tasked with preparing special reports to support the business's overall financial objectives. The position involves excellent interpersonal skills as they will represent the accounting team while collaborating with other departments in the company.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience is required, 5 years preferred
Excellent management and supervisory skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Detail oriented and highly organized
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, is necessary, with expert-level Excel skills such as pivot tables, V Lookups, formulas, and solid financial modeling skills being highly desirable.
Experience with NetSuite ERP preferred
