POSITION SUMMARY

The Controller will oversee, monitor, and improve all general accounting, forecasting, budgeting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general leadership over the finance team. As a key member of the senior leadership team, the Controller will be responsible for the overall financial health and well-being of the organization, as well as effectively communicating financial strategy, controls, constraints, and opportunities to relevant stakeholders, ensuring the financial objectives and goals of the organization are achieved consistently, responsibly, and on time. Supervise and coordinate the activities of the accounting operations and team of the company.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (18 hours of accounting)
  • Five or more years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager
  • Ten or more years of professional accounting experience with responsibility for full accounting cycle
  • Experience in managing payroll, AR & AP with focus on streamlining accounting processes
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines for reporting, budgeting, analysis, etc.
  • Analytical experience including variance analysis, metrics, KPIs, etc.
  • Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis
  • Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting
  • Exemplary history of financial project management
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Professional certification desired but not required, such as CPA, CMA, or CA


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the operations of the Accounting Department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
  • Manage and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity
  • Produce the annual budget and forecasts; report significant budget differences to management including recommendations for addressing variances
  • Provide financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
  • Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior managers by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points for their respective departments and budgets
  • Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape
  • Develop, implement, and maintain documented systems of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows
  • Work with external auditors and provide needed information for the annual audit.
  • Help develop and support short-term and long-term operational strategies
  • Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures
  • Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis
