SalaryMercy Home is looking for an individual fluent in Spanish to assist in translation with Spanish speaking families. This is contracted position and individual must be available on Sunday afternoons/ evenings.
Contracted Spanish Translator
- Provide translation for periodic family therapy sessions.
- Assist in communicating weekly with families via phone check-ins.
- On occasion translate forms and other documents
- Attend family support functions when needed.
- Available to receive calls from parents who want to communicate something to program staff.
Schedule
- Must be available Sunday afternoon/evening.
- All other days and times are flexible, and we work with the contractors availability.

Essential Qualifications.
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
- Able to read and write in Spanish.
- Able to pass the Spanish Burgos Exam.
- Prior experience translating in a formal work setting.
- Able to maintain a neutral stance and facilitate the formation of rapport between family and program therapist/staff.
- Maintaining the confidentiality of information and client identity.
- Is open and respectful of cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of clients and is willing and competent to work with a diverse client population.
- Provide necessary documents for background check.
