About the Role:
As an Independent Contractor, ONSITE Phlebotomist supporting Sanguine Bioscience’s mobile function, you represent Sanguine Biosciences at each job site and come with the expertise required to perform Phlebotomy work at a client’s onsite location or conduct mobile care services in the patient’s home. It is important for our Independent Contractors to be comfortable and well-versed in either an onsite location or at-home setting while presenting themselves professionally and compassionately. Independent Contractors - Phlebotomists perform a variety of protocol-specific procedures including but not limited to phlebotomy, vitals, physical exam, sample processing, packaging and shipment of applicable goods, and delivery and transport of materials per protocol. The above activities must be conducted per clinical research standards, including but not limited to FDA, CDC, IATA, HIPAA, and OSHA. The Independent Contractor - Phlebotomist must be familiar with the protocol and procedures being practiced for at an onsite location or at-home collection. Additionally, upon acceptance of the contract, the Independent Contractor - Phlebotomist will be responsible for receiving and utilizing Sanguine’s medical kits per job specifications, in order to complete the job.
Primary Responsibilities:
Biospecimen Collection
  • Work independently and autonomously at assigned biospecimen draw locations.
  • Review available studies posted in our system. Accept or reject available studies.
  • Ensure all phlebotomy and biospecimens are collected accurately and received at their specified locations within their designated time frames.
  • Work cooperatively with all participants, employees, clients, and guests.
Client Protocol
  • Work at Onsite Client Location
  • Follow established policies and protocols for phlebotomy and biospecimen collection.
  • Maintain participant safety during all procedures and immediately communicate participant safety concerns.
  • Study procedures/collections include, but are not limited to:
    • Utilization of Electronic Patient-Reported Outcomes (ePRO) device
    • Blood collection
    • Lab procedures per lab manual
    • Urinalysis
    • Collection of vital signs (required to use a portable BP device, scale, thermometer)
  • Collection of weight and height
  • Report any unsafe issues or conditions per established policies and procedures.

Administration
  • Reading, understanding, conforming to, and maintaining compliance with Sanguine policies, standard operating procedures, visit guides, etc.
  • Responsible for receiving and bringing medical supplies and required equipment to the assigned job.
  • Correctly label tubes for transport (as applicable) and ship accordingly in a timely manner.
  • Responsible collection, packaging, shipping and integrity of the biospecimens in a timely manner.
  • Dispose of biohazard materials and containers per protocol and as scheduled.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and provide a world-class participant experience
  • Maintain a professional appearance that is in alignment with our dress code.
  • Conduct yourself professionally and compassionately with participants, employees, clients, guests, and the public.

Requirements:
  • Certification/License as required by state law
  • 2 years phlebotomy experience
  • Can work at Client’s Onsite location 4 days per week during hours provided
  • Proof of current TB, TDap, MMR, Varicella, Hep-B, Flu shot, and COVID-19 vaccinations and any additional state required immunizations and vaccinations
  • Must have own mobile centrifuge or be willing to purchase one as 1099 Contractor
  • HIPAA and CDC compliant
  • Ability to demonstrate and uphold the highest level of ethical behavior and confidentiality
  • Manage the medical supplies and kit(s) required for each participant visit
  • Experience working with patients in an in-home setting
  • Wear PPE supplied in each kit at the participant visit
  • Willing to travel up to 200 miles round-trip per visit
  • Responsive and compassionate

  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have access to a smartphone and can turn on services location technology
