Description
Prevailance is in search of a seasoned, mission-driven professional to bolster the Surface Warfare Schools Command in Newport, RI, in the role of a Prospective Engineering Officer Contractor Instructor (PEO CI). This pivotal position demands expertise in High-Level Surface Ship Engineering, and occasional travel may be required.
Responsibilities:
As a vital member supporting SWOS and PMS 339 Specialized Engineering, you will offer essential instruction, operation, testing, remediation, curriculum support (including updates and maintenance), administration, safety, and management support for formalized naval training. Your role will encompass training services pertaining to DDG-10000 main propulsion, electrical systems, auxiliaries, and damage control. Key responsibilities include:
-Instructing Senior and Junior Officers on engineering equipment aboard DDG1000 class ships.
-Verifying and updating course curriculum.
-Creating and editing exams.
-Assisting in training Junior Officers on other ship platforms.
-Accommodating ship rides to San Diego and Mississippi as needed.
Requirements
The PEO CIrole requires candidates to possess the following qualifications:

• Completion of the Navy Instructor Training Course (CIN: A-012-0077) (NEC 9502) or equivalent instructor training course
• Minimum three (3) years' technical experience instructing one or more of the specified courses:

- Surface Warfare Officer Prospective Engineering Officer DDG 1000 (A-4H-7201)
- Surface Warfare Officer Shipride (A-e (A-4H-0503)
- Surface Warfare Officer Prospective Engineering Officer Cruiser (A-4H-0013)
- Surface Warfare Officer Major Command (A-e (A-4H-0503)
Specific Qualifications:

• Senior Surface Ship (E-7) Gas Turbine Electrical (GSE), OR
• (E-8 - E-9) GS, or similar rating OR
• Be either a former Engineer Officer, Main Propulsion Assistant, or Electrical Officer aboard a DDG1000, LHD-8, or LHA-6 class ship

Desired Experience
- Master Training Specialist (MTS)
- Gas Turbine Platform EOOW letter
- DDG 1000 experience
- High Voltage electricity experience
- Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate
Clearance
Candidates must be eligible to obtain and sustain a SECRET security clearance

Salary Description
$75,000 - $80,000
