Content Creation Developer
Job Summary:
The Content CreationDeveloper is responsible for helping the Communications and Marketing Team to write, create, and distribute content on behalf of the Development Team, serving as a bridge between both departments. The main focus of this role will be developing Direct Mail pieces to successfully drive engagement from targeted audiences and increase the giving potential of the Institute’s donor base. This role will assist in the ideation, creation, execution, flow, and trafficking of a variety of print and digital projects, specifically mid- and long-form writing. Primary responsibilities include narrative research and story mining, storyboarding, copywriting, editing, providing support with basic design and layout, devising and pitching story themes, and working to ensure projects are meeting deadlines. The position will report to the Director of Content and Media Relations.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Support a variety of content initiatives by pitching, researching, and producing engaging and persuasive mid- and long-form writing pieces for various print and digital mediums.
- Devise storyboards, story themes, and narratives, and mine potential story leads.
- Copywriting, editing, and proofreading of content materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop written, print, and digital content as well as materials to engage and activate donor and target audience members.
- Interact with stakeholders to conduct thorough and effective interviews.
- Internalize IHS branding and audiences, and write with a cohesive voice and messaging.
- Provide support for the Communications and Marketing team where needed.
- This may include, but is not limited to, newsletters, drafting landing page copy, editorial content, etc.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- 3+ years of communication and marketing-related experience.
- Marketing, Communications, Journalism degree/background preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop creative marketing strategies and write engaging and persuasive copy.
- Strong attention to detail, and excellent copywriting and copyediting skills.
- High level of organization and prioritization with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with AP style and/or Chicago style is a plus.
- Previous experience in direct mail writing for a non-profit organization preferred.
- Previous experience collaborating with a graphic artist a plus.
