Make a difference and work at a non-profit that assists youth and adults in achieving education, skills training, and employment goals! Training Resources of America, headquartered in Worcester, is hiring an Assistant Worksite Training for the YouthBuild program in Worcester. The person in this role is responsible for assisting the Youthbuild Worksite Trainer/Supervisor in all aspect of the construction/rehab and community service sites of the YouthBuild Program, serving as a role model to participants.
The Assistant Worksite Trainer:

  • assists in providing training/ supervision of the YB participants, in ensuring OSHA and worksite safety standards are met, and in providing HBI PACT training;
  • keeps accurate time records of all participants, ensuring time cards are kept and completed properly and submitted to the Manager on a weekly basis;
  • knows the whereabouts of all participants and reports absentees, tardiness and when/ if participants leave site early;
  • works closely with the Worksite Trainer/ Supervisor and takes directives from the TRA-Worcester Manager as necessary;
  • ensures that a professional work environment is evident at all times, and that YB participants are dressed properly for a construction site;
  • informs the TRA Manager and Worksite Trainer/ Supervisor when student issues arise;
  • may assist in case management as necessary;
  • and performs other duties.
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • This job requires 2-4 years’ experience in the building trades (journeyman level preferred), strong communications skills, and the ability to motivate/ relate to a diverse, multicultural youth population with varying needs/ issues. High school diploma or equivalent required. The incumbent must demonstrate leadership skills and be a mentor, role model and trainer to YouthBuild participants at all times. The incumbent must also have the ability to work independently as well as with staff in a team approach to achieve overall program goals and to ensure students’ success. Also needs to be knowledgeable of worksite procedures with regard to injuries and safety planning.
