As the Construction Superintendent, you will collaborate closely with the Retail Infrastructure, Project Management, Design, and Workplace teams to oversee the entire construction process from design review to the opening of new sites. This role involves managing on-site construction executed by general contractors across the designated region. Responsibilities encompass assessing drawings for constructability, monitoring project schedules, coordinating vendor tool installations, addressing construction challenges, and conducting inspections to ensure alignment with plans and specifications. In this position you will manage 15-20+ concurrent projects, with a minimum of 60% travel.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate and supervise on-site construction activities for 20+ concurrent projects across the region, collaborating with general contractors to develop execution plans and schedules
- Ensure consistent communication with key project stakeholders, including job site personnel and project managers, to drive project schedules and resolve technical construction challenges in the field
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to and enforcing applicable state and OSHA regulations
- Schedule and lead quality control and site safety inspections, reviewing project plans and specifications for constructability
- Collaborate with tool installers to facilitate successful project completion, track and manage material deliveries, resolve discrepancies, and establish templates and standards for future phases and projects
- Interface with third-party inspection personnel and municipal inspectors from city/state/county authorities
- Perform and/or lead the execution of small construction projects, complete job scopes outside of normal core compentencies as required
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent
- Previous experience as a Lead Superintendent in industrial facility construction, Brownfield construction, or projects involving building renovation or tenant improvement
- Ability to work effectively within a high-performance, cross-functional organization, meeting stringent timelines
- Proficiency in managing design-build projects
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of building codes, standards, and environmental regulations
- Showcase an understanding of construction design documents, with the ability to provide constructability feedback prior to and during construction
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products, familiarity with office email systems, and knowledge of scheduling tools
