SUMMARY:
Coordinate safety measures with project team, inspect project site and take corrective action to mitigate hazards.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct jobSite Safety and health audits and follow up on hazards identified, working with superintendents/general superintendent to address unsafe conditions.
- Investigate incidents to determine appropriate actions and prevention measures.
- Review and monitor subcontractor activities.
- Ensure corrective safety management actions when required.
- Exhibit operational knowledge of construction OSHA, and other pertinent safety standards.
- Hold toolbox talks and assist with safety stand down trainings.
- Assist Superintendent with 3rd part safety consultant visits.
- Distribute new and changing safety related information.
- Communicate with subcontractor safety personnel, supervisors, trades etc.

Education and Training:
- High School diploma or GED
- No specific requirements but needs to be safety conscious. Safety training will be provided.
Knowledge and Experience:
- 4 years of working in the construction trades.
- Basic understanding of jobSite Safety requirements.
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) is required
Skills and Abilities:
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) is required.
- Must possess basic carpentry skills.
- Skilled at presenting information in an appropriate and helpful manner.
- Effective in a variety of formal presentation settings and one-on-one.
- Able to communicate clearly in writing.
- Computer proficiency is desired.
Working Conditions:
- This position requires 100% of time spent in the field, rotating from project to project. Duties include inspecting job sites for safety hazards and taking corrective action when possible (i.e., re-installing missing guardrails, removing damaged cords from service, etc.).
- This Position may require travel to job sites with overnight travel.
- Job is performed on Construction Sites that require protective equipment that conforms to OSHA regulations.
- Work is performed in outside weather conditions, including rain and extreme heat, near moving mechanical parts and includes occasional exposure to wet, humid and noisy conditions.
- Work will expose individual to heights.
- Weis Builders may modify requirements.
