Construction Safety Professional | Vineland, NJ

What your daily responsibilities look like:

  • Assist a wide variety of general contractors to implement effective safety programs.
  • Initiate and audit high risk work permits (e.g., crane operations, work at heights, confined space entries, hot work, excavations)
  • Provide jobsite safety orientation and oversee subcontractor safety performance.
  • Prepare and present training in safety topics such as fall protection, hot work, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, powered industrial trucks, electrical safety, scaffold safety, cranes/rigging, excavation/trenches, hazard communication, ladder safety, etc.
  • Conduct routine (daily and weekly) jobsite safety inspections.
  • Review safety data sheets (SDSs) for chemicals brought onsite.
  • Mentor/coach contractor employees and managers in safe work practices.

What you need to succeed in this role:

  • 5-10 years Construction Health & Safety Experience
  • S. Degree in Occupational Safety and Health and/or third-party certifications strongly recommended.
  • Heavy Industry / General Industry / Manufacturing experience
  • Strong electrical background along with LOTO and hazardous energy control desired
  • Confined Space experience a must
  • Subcontractor prequalification and safety management
  • Safety program development and implementation
  • Hazardous work permit issuance and supervision
  • Health & Safety Trainings in 1910 (General Industry) and 1926 (Construction)
  • Pre-Task Planning (JSAs, SPAs, SOPs, Crane Lift Plans, etc.)
