Pay Range: $48,152.00 - $82,222.40 annually dependent on knowledge and experience

Minimum Preparation for Work:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural/Environmental Engineering, or Landscape Architecture, and;
- Five (5) years of pertinent experience in Building/Civil, and/or Site project, management, and construction.
- Combination of education, training, and/or work experience equal to or greater than the requirements listed above as determined by Human Resources.
Necessary Special Requirements:
- Possession of an appropriate driver license for equipment operated and any license, training or certification required by law or regulation to complete assigned tasks.
- Certification as a professional Project Manager is preferred.
Nature of Work:
Examples of Work:
- Performs damage and repair assessments to City owned infrastructure and facilities in conjunction with consulting engineers, architects, and contractors.
- Oversees preparation of complete public bid packages for repair/construction of City owned infrastructure.
- Assists in the preliminary review of assigned projects to identify potential problems and recommend alternative solutions; attends preconstruction and in-house design review meetings.
- Assists in the plan review, tracking, inspection, and monitoring of municipal development projects.
- Researches information to support other teams and departments.
- Assists in the management of the City's vertical and horizontal Construction Projects by performing the tasks necessary to successfully oversee the initiation and closure of projects. These tasks include but are not limited to monitoring project time, cost, quality, resources, risks, issues, communications, develop and maintain project scope, limit scope creep, work breakdown structures, project schedules, communication plans, project reports, project change management documentation, consultant/contractor selection, building and managing the project team, and quality management plans.
- Prepares and maintains technical and administrative operating records and reports.
- Takes responsibility for the division's project records and the maintenance of project files including the preparation of reports to be submitted to various agencies, grantors, other departments, and stakeholders.
- Performs administrative duties including oversight of submittals, preparation of invoices, estimates, calendar appointments/meetings, and other project documentation needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of pertinent principles, practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment applied in Project Management, Building Construction and Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing Engineering and apply the associated principles and practices to manage city construction.
- Knowledge of pertinent Federal, State and local laws and ordinances governing the activities of the department.
- Knowledge of approval standards of safety as related to designs and specifications.
- Knowledge of modern management techniques and methods.
- Knowledge to perform routine to moderately complex mathematical computations and tabulations accurately and efficiently.
- Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
- Ability to speak and write effectively.
- Ability to prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive reports (Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel)
- Ability to review construction plans, specs, change orders, addendums, and contracts for completeness and code compliance.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.
- Ability to organize, establish priorities, meet established deadlines, and follow up on assignments with minimal direction.
- Ability to apprise team consistently of ongoing work and associated timelines.
- Ability to research, startup and implement multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to travel to multiple job sites throughout the city.
