Tanner Pacific is currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our team. We are an independent, construction management firm specializing in public works projects with a focus on water resources. Our projects help communities update aging infrastructure, turn wastewater into a renewable resource, and construct facilities that employ new methods of waste handling and water treatment. Essential Functions
- Ability to work in a field office setting
- Understand and communicate technical and non-technical concepts effectively, both orally and in writing. Prepare clear and concise correspondence and other written materials
- Enter confined spaces
- Walk, stand, crawl, climb and stoop for extended periods of time on jobsites
- Position will require work outside of normal workhours to meet project requirements, contractor’s schedule and company responsibilities
- Possessing an unsuspended and unrestricted driver’s license may be a condition of employment dependent upon work requirements
Other Functions
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Provide technical support for any construction related matters
- Observe construction activities at project site
- Process project communications between contractor, client and designer including requests for information, submittals, design clarifications and change order request
- Maintain online project files and document tracking
- May prepare quantity take-offs and estimates for change orders
- May be responsible for review of the contractor’s baseline and monthly update schedules
- Maintain as-builts
- Assist with interpretation of project plans and specifications
- Assist with the preparation of claims and claim evaluation to determine merit
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Must have graduated with an engineering, construction management or architecture degree
- Must be able to speak fluent English as well as write grammatically correct English
- This position requires a working knowledge of Office 365
- Knowledge of ProCore or similar construction management software and Primavera P6 scheduling software is desirable
- Operates under close supervision with detailed instruction on all tasks
- Follows established procedures on routine tasks
- Makes decisions based on instruction given
- Ability to make intelligent decisions while working under pressure and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays

Typical Working Conditions
On-site construction trailer or building where exposure to heights, uneven surfaces, confined spaces, heat, cold, dirt, odors, wastewater and chemical exposure and other construction hazards may exist.
Physical Demands
Must be able to traverse all areas of jobsite in all types of weather. This may include: walking, standing, climbing, crawling, reaching, bending and stooping for extended periods, to inspect work in progress and upon completion. Must be able to occasionally lift 45 pounds. Must be able to climb ladders. Must be able to enter confined spaces, with appropriate training.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
