Construction Manager

Essential Functions and Qualifications Requirements/Knowledge/Education/Skills:

• Qualifying candidates must possess, at least, 10 years of experience in the execution of pharmaceutical environment projects for the Project Engineer and 5 to 8 years for the Project Coordinator. It shall have applicable safety training for the industry or at least 30 HRS OSHA certifications.
• The resource must be able to work during weekends, night shifts and during shutdowns as applicable or required (Note: Most of the work is to be executed during regular hours).
• Candidates must be capable of reading and interpreting general construction drawings, P&IDs, shop drawings, submittals, sketches, requests for information, field directives, specifications, design standards, guidelines, schedules and any other deemed necessary construction document to ensure compliance with project requirements at all times.
• Construction managers must be self-started, with high technical knowledge, and must work independently and with minimal or no supervision from the Project Manager.
• Provide the Curriculum Vitae of at least 3 TOP Candidates with your proposal for the services being described. An interview process will follow after completing the award.
• The Construction Manager must ensure that all drawing revisions are currently in his/her set of drawings and available at the field in Construction Contractors & Subcontractors packages. This also applies to specific system shop drawings including but not limited to applicable shop drawings, Issued For Construction Drawings for each project, manufacturer cut-sheets, manufacturer standard details, product application procedure documents, revisions related to field directives, and any other drawings or documents associated to project completion and design.
• If any discrepancy is found between construction documents, it is the responsibility of the Construction Manager to communicate such discrepancy to the Project Manager and request the version of the current document to distribute across all related parties. As well, as request documentation such as field directives, RFIs, clarifications to documents, sketches, cut sheets, typical details, standard forms, and any other documentation that will provide resolution to needed information to continue with project activities. These activities shall also be addressed with any manufacturer on the projects, consultants, and QA inspection resources and are not limited to design services resources.
• Request all submittals from Construction Contractors, Subcontractors, and other services to route them for approval. The submissions must be done through the SCOPE System Platform which is the official project repository. Revisions must be managed and documented in Submittals Log. The Submittal Log shall be updated and discussed in project meetings for status to set commitments regarding open items. Maintain control of the response time from third parties to ensure progress at all times. The construction Manager is responsible for managing and controlling the submittal process from the start until the closing of the approval cycle. The submittals shall not limit to products detailed in drawings or specifications but shall include proposed access route drawings, overlay/staging areas for approval, equipment assembly for access sealed by the Professional Engineer of Record, etc.
• Manage all Request For Information from submission to obtaining and sending the final answers to Construction Contractor. It is required to analyze the provided answer regarding constructability, field conditions, schedule, and feasibility before distribution to related parties. Any discrepancy or unsuitability of the provided answer must be discussed with the Project Manager along with recommendations from the Construction Manager. Also, the analysis shall bring associated costs, risks, possible alternates, and schedule analysis to the Project Manager’s attention.
