Duties and Responsibilities:
- Have accountability for the sector budget and ensure the financial management of the sector is compliant with contract, as well as, organization.
- Plans and directs activities of designated sectors to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
- Generate estimates and work plans to determine work scopes, schedules, budgets, procedures for accomplishing goals, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases within the sector.
- Establish the work plan and staffing for each phase of the sector.
- Arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
- Confer with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
- Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure the work plan progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
- Review status reports prepared by project personnel and schedules or plans as required.
- Prepare project reports for management, client, or others.
- Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
- Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.
- Manage supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position.
Key Requirements, Education, and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in the construction-related field desired. Will consider 10+ years of experience in lieu of college degree. Basic knowledge of general construction industry contracting practices a plus.
- Must be able to pass Border Patrol Criminal Background Investigations and Clearances.
- Past experience of managing Government contracts preferred. This includes U.S. Customs and Border Protection / Department of Homeland Security.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work with varied customers and clients, including Federal, state agencies, local government agencies, and commercial clients.
- Works independently with minimal guidance/supervision.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical construction documents. procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Travel
- Travel to project sites and client meetings may be required.
