Position Title: Construction Manager Intern (Office)

Role
This role is responsible for scheduling field work activities for a specific customer or geographic area.The position will provide opportunities to view interactions with lead customer representatives, Field Construction Managers, vendors and general contractors to ensure real-time communication of construction activities. This role supports the District Construction Project Managers with scheduling of work and other special projects. This position is responsible for cost controls through planned efforts or change order processing.This role may split their work activities between office and field. This role will build an understanding of the Crown Castle business model and how the construction and implementation organization contributes to the ongoing success of the business.

Work Plans:This role falls into our hybrid work model working in your assigned office approximately 60% of the time (3 days per week) and where you do your best work 40% (2 days per week). There is an expectation of collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter that requires up to 25% travel.

Responsibilities
- Advise District and/or Program/ Project Managers in aspects of construction work
- Actively participate in the vendor selection process and facilitate fair price estimation and budget development
- Attend deployment and other customer meetings as subject matter expert for Crown Castle
- Develop customer relationships to help gain additional service work for Crown Castle
- Create and/or review project bill of materials (BOM) and validate through physical site walks
- Actively participate and attend scoping meetings as deemed necessary per project
- Responsible for inflight construction site walks, bid/pre-construction, in-progress site visits, and construction closeout
- Provide direction to general contractors aligned to job scope and customer standards
- Understand prevailing wages to ensure Crown Castle is receiving competitive rates for quality work
- Solve issues onsite and make best decisions with safety, schedule and cost in mind
- Strong computer skills - MS Office and project management software knowledge
- Ensure that all jobs are maintained in a project tracking system with complete accuracy
- Conduct quality control reviews of project closeouts and keep general contractors accountable for any issues
Expectations
- Knowledge of Outside Plant Construction techniques (aerial & underground) for SCS
- Familiarity with test equipment for RF Sweep, OTDR, Power Meter and Passive Intermodulation (PIM) testing
- Working knowledge of NESC, NEC and OSHA standards
Education/Certifications
- Currently enrolled in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited higher education institution
- Preferred field(s) of study: Construction
- A valid driver's license required
Experience/Minimum Requirements
- Authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time, regular basis without additional sponsorship
