Wilsey Ham is a well-established and growing 80-year-old Civil Engineering, Surveying and Construction Management firm with offices in San Mateo, Pleasant Hill and Chico, California. Our firm provides a full array of land development and public works design, survey, and construction and project management services.

We are seeking a Construction Manager with at least five years of experience to be based out of our San Mateo office but work in the Santa Clara and Santa Cruz County area.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Construction Manager candidate, with a minimum of five (5) years of experience. This is a position for a talented Construction Manager seeking a growth opportunity to advance their skills. This position requires the ability to be onsite at projects as needed on field days. On office days work can be on a hybrid schedule, allowing work time to be divided between the office and home upon management approval.

The ideal candidate for this opportunity can work independently with minimum supervision, has sound construction management skills, is team oriented, personable, and possesses a strong desire to make a positive contribution to the business. This position requires a well-organized and versatile individual who is experienced in construction management with some experience in project management.

Responsibilities:

• Work under the general supervision of the Senior Construction Manager, managing projects and serving as a liaison between owner's, contractors, engineers, and architects
• Manage and conduct regularly scheduled meetings, providing organized and articulate minutes and/or follow up
• Ensure projects are running smoothly and are on schedule, identifying problems areas and working with the team to provide solutions
• Provide constructability review by reading drawings, identifying issues, working with responsible team for resolution
• Coordinate testing and inspections
• Review and prepare cost estimates, including initiating change orders as needed
• Prepare thorough and organized status reports
• Review schedules, pay requests, RFIs and submittals
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• BS Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management
• Minimum five years of experience in construction management working as Owner's Representative, Contractor, Engineering or Architectural firm
• Onsite experience managing contractors, engineers, and architects
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and detail-oriented skills
• Solid experience with the MS Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Experience with scheduling software (i.e., MS Project and/or Primavera) strongly preferred
• Experience with Small to Large projects ($5M - $60M)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills including an ability to interact professionally and knowledgeably with clients
• Experience working with government agencies
• CCM, LEED or PMP Certification a plus

We offer a competitive benefits package that includes company paid medical, dental and vision insurance, vacation and a 401(k) plan.
