Job Description
Location: Chicago,IL
'-Identify and monitor potential hazards and mitigation techniques for onsite project/construction activities
-Monitor contractors adherence to environmental, safety, and health programs
-Maintain a Daily Log of permitting activities, issues, and corrective actions.
-Participate in Daily/Weekly/Bi-weekly safety and construction activity meetings
-Participate in the investigation & assist in preparation of reports covering incidents & near misses
-Ensure all contractors comply with PPE requirements
-Conduct daily inspection of work site and prepare permits for required activities
-Work with Project Managers to coordinate trade schedules to meet project requirements
'-Bachelor's degree Engineering
'-10 years of work experience in a construction safety position
'-Specific training in OSHA safety requirements, First Aid, and CPR
'-Good understanding of compliance requirements for federal, state, local, & company regulations
'-Ability to recognize hazards and recommendations for corrective measures
'-Good knowledge of domestic safety standards
'-Experience with construction work permitting processes for hot work
'-Presentation and facilitation skills
'-Strong leadership, communication (verbal and written), organization, and interpersonal skills
'-Ability to monitor critical situations in a professional manner
-Immediately report all unsafe acts or conditions to project managers and assist in corrective actions, as required
