Construction Laborer/Scale Hand

This position requires working in all types of weather including but not limited to high and low temperatures, wind, snow, and rain. This position is very physical and the selected applicant should be able to lift up to 50 pounds, shovel, climb up and down, use ladders, bend, crawl, stoop, push, pull, reach overhead, and twist as appropriate. The successful candidate will be a friendly individual who can work independently and with a team. This individual will be responsible for using computer software and scales to track the type and amount of material leaving the location.

Starting at $18 per hour – Based on experience

Full time- Typically 7 am- 5 pm, Monday- Friday, some exceptions apply.

Construction Laborer/Scale Hand Responsibilities:

·         Participate in daily safety meetings.

·         Follow all health and safety regulations.

·         Safely operate different hand and power tools.

·         Work around redi-mix sites and throughout gravel pits.

·         Complete assigned tasks quickly and efficiently.

·         Comply with all safety protocols and wear proper safety equipment.

·         Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.

·         Wash and polish trucks.

·         Cleaning under the batch plant.

·         Light maintenance.

·         Diligently process all trucks for coming in and out of the pit.

·         Direct trucks to proper locations.

·         Communicate with other employees to convey truck traffic.  

·         Give site specific training to employees and visitors to familiarize themselves with site hazards and company policies in compliance with MSHA regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

·         Send APEX reports nightly via email.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Construction Laborer/Scale Hand Qualifications:

·         Ability to handle physical workload.

·         Effective written and oral communication skills.

·         Ability to manage time.  

·         Have reliable transportation and a current driver’s license.

·         Must pass pre-employment and random drug screens

·         Basic computer skills

·         Must be able to work independently

·         Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English
