Construction Laborer

Barber Utilities is a local construction company specializing in the installation of natural gas and water pipelines. We are looking to grow our company by hiring operators, truck drivers, and laborers. Competitive pay and benefits. Health insurance, 401k with profit share matching as well as paid time off. Candidates with Operator Qualifications (NGA OQ) for natural gas are preferred but not required. Barber Utilities offers on-the-job training as well as classroom time to get and keep OQs. Jobs are local to the greater Hartford area and crews are home every night. Operator experience should include but not be limited to, skid steer, roller, excavator, loader, and backhoe.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with various construction tasks such as digging, lifting, and carrying materials
- Operate hand and power tools under supervision
- Load and unload materials from trucks
- Follow instructions from supervisors to ensure safety and efficiency on the job site
- Assist with measuring, cutting, and assembling materials as needed
- Perform basic maintenance on tools and equipment

Experience:
- Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with hand and power tools commonly used in construction projects
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills on the job
- Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions from supervisors

-Natural Gas experience is not required but is a plus

Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
