Asphalt / Paver Laborer

Penna Construction, is a Construction Company based in Fairfield County CT that specializes in Underground Utility Excavation. We are seeking an experienced Paver Operator for immediate hire. Position Summary:

Summary

We are looking for a salaries, benefits, and a positive work environment where safety is our top priority. As a Asphalt Laborer to join our team! This person is responsible for operating heavy equipment to grade specifications, and oversight of paving crew.

Responsibilities:

• Complete tasks as directed by Foreman in a timely manner
• Maintain and clean work areas
• Perform shoveling, raking, and demolition work as required
• Able to work and assist others to work in a safe manner within the guidelines of the company's policies
• Operate Paving Equipment and/ or Labor
• Observe distribution of paving material along Screed and control to eliminate voids at curbs and joints
• Keep Screed accurately adjusted and maintain material quality
• Setup Paver, Screed, and Rollers
• Match all paver joints and maintain consistency
• Perform several tasks involving strenuous manual labor on projects; perform manual work in preparing surfaces for paving
• Assist in patching asphalt
• Ability to drive and operate equipment under varying working conditions
• Other duties may be assigned

Requirements:

• Prior experience required
• Must be authorized to work in the US
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Ability to operate and maintain paving equipment and machinery
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
