THE CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR AT CPL
The Construction Inspector coordinates with seasoned civil engineers and a diverse team of multidisciplinary professionals to perform work for roadway, public water main, sanitary sewer and storm sewer projects. Reporting to a Senior Construction Inspector, you consolidate information, prepare reports and see all assignments through to successful outcomes. You take a collaborative approach to every project you work on, and your team members appreciate your dedication to following through on commitments.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- You can easily interpret complex construction plans and specifications
- You have experience preparing daily construction reports and other important documents
- You have a demonstrated track record of working effectively with Engineers-in-Charge and/or designated Office Engineers
- You have prior experience with industry data management programs and can use them to file reports, photographs and other data as needed - or you are willing to learn
- You have at least three (3) years of construction inspection experience related to civil engineering - or you have enrolled in/completed a degree program for civil engineering, civil technology or construction management from an accredited institution
- You have Transportation Inspection experience and NICET Level 3 or 4 certification or equivalent experience
- You have a valid driver's license
CORE DUTIES
- Collaborate with clients through the design, bidding and construction processes, eliminating the need for them to engage multiple consultants
- Perform field observation/inspection tasks, overseeing various construction activities
- Verify compliance with predetermined project plans and specifications
- Review information and assemble daily construction reports and other documentation, accounting for detail and accuracy
- Keep track of contract quantities, recording daily quantities in each report
- Coordinate with owners, contractors, regulatory agencies, utility officials and other external project personnel as necessary
