Construction Estimator

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. The Construction Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of materials, labor, and equipment needed for construction projects. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of construction processes. Design Build and experience as well as experience with DoD type projects is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Review project drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to gather necessary information for estimates.
• Analyze blueprints and technical documents to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
• Utilize estimating software and spreadsheets to calculate material quantities, labor hours, and equipment costs. Experience with Sage Estimating is a plus.
• Research and solicit quotes from subcontractors and suppliers for materials and services.
• Evaluate and compare subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitiveness and quality.
• Prepare and present cost estimates to clients, including detailed breakdowns of costs and timelines.
• Assist in developing project budgets and schedules.
• Track and update cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle to ensure accuracy.
• Participate in project meetings and provide expertise on cost-related matters.
• Stay current with industry trends, material costs, and construction methods.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred-not required).
• Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role in the construction industry.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as Sage Estimating, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar tools.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction processes.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Certification from a recognized professional organization (e.g., American Society of Professional Estimators) is a plus.
