Job Description
We are currently seeking a Construction Estimator to play a crucial role in accurately estimating project costs for firm fixed-price bids, proposals, and change orders. Leveraging field experience, industry knowledge, and analytical skills, the Estimator will prepare precise quantity take-offs and ensure comprehensive understanding of project requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Track bid advertisements, review bid documents, and maintain logs.
- Attend site walkthroughs to assess field conditions and prepare estimates.
- Review drawings, specifications, and addendums to identify gaps.
- Perform detailed project cost estimates and solicit quotes for labor and materials.
- Assist in bid analysis, prepare final bids, and communicate with stakeholders.
- Coordinate administrative tasks related to document management.
- Interact with clients, architects, engineers, and local jurisdictions.
- Support MWDBE plan development, execution, and compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience in estimating within the construction industry, ideally for MEP projects (pumpstations, wastewater treatment, etc.).
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in engineering computations/analysis.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and use estimating software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with CMiC software is a plus.
- Organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
