We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the construction process by accurately estimating project costs and ensuring cost control measures are implemented. Duties:
- The ability to create a team environment and delegate work evenly to the estimating team.
- Review bid documents, prepare scope sheets for bidding within our bidding system.
- Review project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to determine project requirements
- Develop and maintain a bidding schedule for every project, interior bid due dates, RFI dates, walk throughs and final bid due dates.
-They will prepare the bid documents for review by company management at periodic stages of the bidding cycle and schedule those reviews.
- Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment
- Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to gather pricing information and negotiate favorable terms
- Utilize software programs such as QuickBids, OnScreen Take off and Building Connected to create comprehensive estimates
- Analyze project scope changes and revise estimates accordingly
- Prepare bid packages and submit proposals to clients
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as required
- Maintain accurate records of estimating data and ensure all documentation is organized
They will be able to meet clients to discuss the projects and have a dialog with the engineers and architects for the projects on VE items and means and methods of construction.
-They must demonstrate a high level of understanding of the construction industry, means and methods across the CSI spectrum.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles and practices
- Proficiency in project management techniques
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
- Familiarity with software programs such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contracts
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills to accurately estimate project costs
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, clients, and subcontractors
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
