Estimator
Summary: The Estimator reviews blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services and conceptual estimating including quantity surveys and pricing by performing the following duties:
Qualifications: Applicant must be Detail Oriented, Organized, and Self Motivated.
Applicant must have:
Degree in Construction or Construction related field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Relevant Career Experience
Conceptual Estimating Skills: knowledge of current labor and material costs to complete bids.
Ability to read and comprehend Architectural and Construction Documents.
Experience with standard AIA contract terms.
Experience with integrated automated estimating techniques, such as MC/2 among others.
Ability to prepare a preliminary milestone schedule on scheduling software
Ability to prepare bid packages and tabulate proposals from trade contractors
Proficient in report writing, value engineering and constructability reviews
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares cost comparisons, value engineering and constructability reviews of contact documents.
Chairs meetings with consultants and owners, and prepares minutes of those meetings.
Obtain and distribute bid documents as well as review bid documents. Also attend pre-bid meetings.
Participates in strategy meetings in the estimating department as well as conducts estimating / progress meetings
Assists project managers with the analysis of major subcontractors and purchase orders during the transition from Estimating to Project Management.
Responsible for establishing and meeting aggressive safety goals for all areas under your supervision
Applicants must meet minimum requirements, must be able to commute to work daily. Normal work hours required.
