POSITION TITLE: Senior Estimator
REPORTS TO: Preconstruction Director
JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Estimator primarily works as a Leader of the Preconstruction Team to estimate the cost of prospective projects and submit bids and budgets for those projects. The Senior Estimator supports the Operations Team and others within the organization by providing cost estimating assistance as needed.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend Preconstruction and Pre-bid meetings
- Order new plans
- Manage project documents and issue to subcontractors
- Compile bid packages and scope sheets
- Perform quantity takeoff surveys for projects
- Compile estimates for self-perform trades
- Actively advertise and solicit subcontractor pricing
- Provide budget pricing and value engineering for clients when required
- Visit each site before bid or proposal
- Scope bids from subs and suppliers to identify scope gaps / overlap
- Assist in contract negotiations
- Compile and record historical data
- Provide oversite and train Estimators, Project Engineers, and Interns
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS
- The majority of work is in an office setting, with intermittent sitting, standing, and walking. Some travel may be required.
Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Construction Management, Engineering, or another related field.
- 7+ years commercial construction experience required.
- Preferred experience with Sage Estimating, OnScreen Takeoff, P6, Earthworks, Bluebeam and other Microsoft Office Software
