POSITION OVERVIEW
The Product Lifecycle Manager will manage all Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Configuration Management (CM) processes and systems. The company is expanding rapidly and is in search of an experienced and ambitious leader who will manage scalable PTC suite infrastructure in the short term, and in the long term, guide the adoption of the downstream Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
systems. They will work with CAD Designers, cross-functional Engineering Teams, interfacing functions like Supply Chain and Logistics, and the customer to develop and maintain PLM processes and infrastructure. The Product Lifecycle Manager must understand the various aspects of Product Lifecycle Management, Configuration Management, Bill of Materials, Engineering design, verification, validation, Project Management, and IT infrastructure concepts needed to support the Engineering team. Within PTC Windchill they must setup business rules and optimize change workflows using administration utilities, and manage back-end maintenance and improvements. Position to provide corrective actions to team members as necessary.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Builds the comprehensive Product Lifecycle Management and Configuration Management processes, templates, and infrastructure in PTC Windchill
- Approves Problem Reports, Engineering Change Requests, Engineering Change Notices, Variances (Deviations and/or Waivers)
- Implements systems for seamless collaboration between Engineering and downstream functions like Manufacturing, Logistics, etc.
- Maintains security access, Change Control Board, and Change Implementation Board members
- Manages lifecycle states and change object processes
- Performs BOM Management by maintaining and synchronizing EBOMs, MBOMs, and SBOMs
- Supports CM contract deliverables such as Configuration Status Accounting, Configuration Status Records, Requests for Deviations/Waivers, and Physical Configuration Audits
- Communicates with PTC and IT contacts to maintain uptime, implement upgrades, and improve capability via back-end adjustments
- Maintains licenses for staff across all roles
- Understands and communicates specific program requirements associated with Configuration Management to functional leads, functional team modelers, and suppliers as necessary
- Delegates CM tasks and/or corrections to engineers, designers, program managers, and other Windchill users
- Communicates on a technical level with other functional areas internally and externally as appropriate to the project (e.g., marketing, sales, purchasing, customers, suppliers, consultants, contractors, etc.)
- Professional and accurate documentation of work is expected
- Recommends and/or implements improvements in procedures, processes, materials, or equipment
- Explores current and future technologies to meet the needs of programs and customers
- Performs other duties and assists other staff as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5+ years of experience in a closely related field
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or another relevant field required
- Experience in Defense or Automotive products highly desired
- Experience integrating PLM with ERP preferred
- Excellent interpersonal/team communication skills. Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, coordinate, integrate and articulate concepts, ideas, and concerns relating to interpersonal, organizational, and technical issues
- The successful candidate will be able to effectively present process improvement proposals to internal and external technical teams
SKILLS
- Proficiency in Windchill or other Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software
- Must have extensive knowledge of Configuration Management standards and best practices e.g. MIL-HDBK-61B, EIA-649, and GEIA-HB-649
- Familiarity with CAD software, model-based definition, and modelling practices
- Technical ability and creativity to initiate, direct, and control specific projects
- Strong program management skills with ability to lead cross functional teams desired
- Rigorous attention to detail, to ensure technical data integrity
- Proficient with Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong English language skills, both spoken and written. Additional language skills desired
