Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Site Supervisor to join our South Texas Concrete team in Houston, TX. The Site Supervisor reports directly to the Production Supervisor.
What you’ll get to do
- Ensure effective, efficient and financially responsible operation of concrete production plant
- Supervise site employees
- Lead safety & health for your site and ensure regulatory and company policy compliance
- Schedule customer orders and address the needs of the customer
- Coach and train site personnel on safety, customer service and plant operations
- Maintain accurate cement/materials and fuel inventories
- Dispatch independent haul trucks to maximize routes
- Troubleshoot and address any plant issues that may arise
- Maintain daily/monthly reporting requirements
Essential Experience and Skills
- At least 3 years of ready mix concrete plant production or in construction materials or a closely related industry
- Proven strong customer service and communication skills
- Motivation and ability to embrace all the aspects of the job such as accountability for the people, assets, and performance of the site; work fluctuating hours; and personally, doing manual labor such as repairing equipment, shoveling, and lifting
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Bilingual would be helpful, but not required
Work Environment
- Role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions
