What we’re looking for…
The Concrete Finisher is one of Greystone's Key roles. They show passion in what they do, and they know the true value of getting it done right the first time. this role, you will pour, smooth, and level concrete using various finishing hand/power tools (float, trowels, concrete vibrators, etc.). The ideal applicant has 3+ years of proven experience as a Concrete Finisher in large commercial construction projects and possess excellent finishing techniques while meeting and exceeding industry standards. Concrete Finishers report directly to the Foreman on site.
Major Expectations & Accountabilities...
- Perform concrete preparation and finish work on commercial and industrial buildings.
- Take complete the day-to-day concrete field operations for the project while meeting management and customer objectives for safety, quality and schedule.
- Safely operate hand and power tools of all types; air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, pumps, power saws, buggies, trawls, pressure washers, forklift, skid steers, surveying and measuring equipment.
- Enforce all Company safety policies, OSHA policies and other applicable safety standards. Hold toolbox safety meetings on a weekly basis.
- Responsible for efficient utilization of labor, equipment, materials, & other resources.
- Associate must be Department of Transportation (DOT) Health Card Eligible.
What you'll need to be successful...
- 5 years previous concrete finishing experience minimum.
- Required: OSHA 10 and first aid; preferred: OSHA 30.
- Ability to travel to job sites as required.
- Must be able to read and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
Qualifications that can set you apart...
- Five (5) plus years’ experience with a general contractor who self performs concrete, masonry, carpentry, or pre-engineered building construction.
- Commercial driver's license (CDL)
- 2-year Associate degree in Construction Trades.
- Utilize appropriate business software and forms including construction management software, time management software, and electronic communications.
- Able to manage and high degree of competency in particular trade being managed.
- Ability to prepare and communicate pre-task plans.
- Must be able to understand and communicate plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Must understand current construction means, methods and procedures and be able to direct crew to perform to these standards.
