Job Description
We are looking for a qualified candidate to work as a full-time Computer System Engineer Architect SME to use cutting-edge cloud technologies to streamline services for a government client in Enterprise Hosting Center-West located at the Denver Federal Center campus in Lakewood, CO. Role and Responsibilities:
Lead in architecting, designing, and implementing the Enterprise Active Directory Services environment, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to security standards.
Offer expert technical services to manage Active Directory and its related services, including Microsoft Windows operating systems, Azure Active Directory, and other component services.
Continuously review, maintain, and focus on operational security risks and best practices to ensure the safety and integrity of administrative functions and documents.
Ensure adherence to A-130 certification and accreditation.
Supervise and oversee Enterprise Directory Services (EDS) operations and consolidation planning.
Monitor the performance of EDS-related service-level agreements and manage service-level management processes.
Provide continued support to Department-level Change Advisory Boards
Develop, maintain, and track new optimization and standardization requirements aligned with bureau and federal requirements.
Collaborate with key stakeholders for consensus.
Assist in the development and execution of new IT initiatives associated with the Department’s implementation of EDS.
Test and ensure disaster recovery operations, including full restores of the EDS to a disconnected network.
Monitor and maintain operating systems, software service packs, patches, and server components in the Federal Test and Development Lab.
Provide training on systems administration and maintain appropriate operations documentation.
Track change requests and provide the estimated level of support required.
Provide On-site support whenever required.
Perform day-to-day research, ensuring technology and best practice guidance are applied
Required Skills:
Hands-on experience and strategic understanding in planning, designing, deploying, and maintaining complex IT infrastructure within an organization.
In-depth knowledge and extensive experience in architecting, designing, implementing, and managing Active Directory environments, from Windows 2012 R2 to the latest versions, including Azure Active Directory.
Profound technical expertise in Microsoft Windows operating systems and various related component services, including deep familiarity with Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), Azure Federation Services, lightweight directory access protocol (LDAP), and directory synchronization services.
Expertise in Authentication and authorization protocols such as security assertion markup language (SAML) 2.0, OAuth etc.
In-depth knowledge of various tools used for monitoring system health, event logs, and performance metrics, including MOM, NetIQ, SCOM, Splunk, and similar software.
Expert Level knowledge and experience in monitoring and maintaining operating systems, service packs, patches, and server components in testing and development labs using software tools like Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager, Windows Software Update Services (SCCM/WSUS) and/or Microsoft Intune.
Deep understanding on Microsoft Windows OS, Active Directory, security protocols and various related software tools
Minimum Required Qualifications:
A master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Should possess a professional certification such as Microsoft certified Azure Solution Architect or other relevant certifications.
14+ years of proven experience in Infrastructure planning, System Engineer. 5+ years of architectural experience in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise Active Directory environments.
Experience in the Federal Organization would be an added advantage.
Strong technical expertise in Microsoft windows operating system, active directory services and security protocols.
